This is primarily aimed at first- and second-year undergraduates interested in engineering or science, along with high school students and professionals with an interest in programming. This course aims to teach the students different types of engineering materials (polymers, metals and ceramics) and biomaterials used for additive manufacturing. Background on each material type, benefits and limitations will be given discussion the best applications for various materials. Additive manufacturing methods for different materials will also be evaluated.

  • Additive Manufacturing of Polymers and Polymer Composites
    • This module focuses on polymeric materials and polymer matrix composites. Properties and additive manufacturing of these materials are investigated.
  • Additive Manufacturing of Metals
    • This module focuses on metallic materialscommonly used for additive manufacturing process. Properties and additive manufacturing of these materials are investigated.
  • Additive Manufacturing of Ceramics
    • This module focuses on ceramic materials commonly used for additive manufacturing process. Properties and additive manufacturing of these materials are investigated.
  • Additive Manufacturing of Biomaterials
    • This module focuses on bioink materials commonly used for bioprinting process to prepare tissues and organs. Properties and additive manufacturing of these materials are investigated.
