This course will equip you to analyze the real-world impacts of global trade and evaluate the arguments for and against protectionism. You will explore how international commerce creates overall gains while also producing winners and losers, and scrutinize the economic consequences of trade restrictions.   • International Economic Policy
    • In this course, we begin with winners, losers, and gains from trade, exploring how international commerce benefit some and disadvantage others but generally increase overall wealth. Next, we examine the economic consequences and justifications of import quotas. We then focus on the four newer arguments for protection, offering modern perspectives on why nations sometimes shield domestic industries. Lastly, we look at balance of payments accounts to understand how a country's financial transactions with the rest of the world are recorded. By the end of this course, you'll have a more nuanced grasp of international economic relations.
