Syllabus

  • WHAT IS AN IDP?
    • This module introduces the concept of an Individual Development Plan (IDP) and its importance in strategic career planning. Through a combination of video testimonials and practical lessons, you will learn how an IDP can serve as a powerful tool for identifying transferable skills, assessing competencies, setting professional development goals, and building a supportive network.
  • WRITE AN IDP
    • This module walks you through the process of writing an IDP. It is broken down into four manageable sections: identifying areas to develop; setting short- and long-term goals; developing strategies and action plans for achieving these goals; setting timelines; and identifying useful resources. Once you complete the assignment, you will walk away with a fleshed out IDP ready to be put into action.
  • IMPLEMENT AND REVISE YOUR IDP
    • This module guides you through the ongoing process of putting your Individual Development Plan (IDP) into action and revising it over time. You will explore practical strategies for executing your action plan, incorporating feedback, maintaining accountability, and tracking your progress. Because an IDP is a dynamic, evolving tool—not a fixed contract—you’ll also learn how to adapt your goals and timelines based on new experiences and changing ambitions.
