This course is intended for IT professionals tasked with administering a Storage Scale storage cluster consisting of Linux nodes. The course includes information on various Storage Scale features that enable remote access to data that is stored in a cluster file system. This includes: multi-cluster support, clustered NFS, cluster export services (CES) and protocol support (NFS, SMB, and Object), Active File Management (AFM), and AFM-based Asynchronous Disaster Recovery (AFM DR). The features are described in lecture materials and implemented in lab exercises.

Introduction

Welcome to IBM Storage Scale: Remote Data Access. Please complete the reading to understand the purpose and audience for this course.

Unit 1: IBM Storage Scale Remote Data Access Overview

Unit one is all about familiarizing yourself with multi-cluster support. In this unit, you will complete three videos, one quiz, and one lab exercise.

Unit 2: Active File Management

In unit two, you'll explore active file management by watching three videos, passing one quiz, and completing one lab exercise.

Unit 3: AFM-based Asynchronous Disaster Recovery (AFM DR)

In unit 3, we are sticking with AFM. However, this time, we are focusing on disaster recovery.

Unit 4: Clustered NFS (CNFS)

Clustered NFS or CNFS for short are our topic for unit 4. We've broken up the unit into three videos and a graded quiz.

Unit 5: Cluster Export Services (CES)

Next up is CES or configuring export services. When you are ready, watch this unit's videos to learn about CES, open-source software, and node status.
