  • Cloud Spanner: Database Architecture and Reliability on Google Cloud
    • Welcome to Week 1 of the course. Week 1 introduces the foundational concepts required to design reliable database architectures using Cloud Spanner. You will learn how to analyze database capacity requirements, evaluate application connectivity options, and determine the most appropriate database solutions for different workloads on Google Cloud. This module also explores high availability and disaster recovery strategies, database monitoring and troubleshooting techniques, and designing backup and recovery solutions to protect mission-critical data. By the end of this week, you will understand how to design reliable and resilient Cloud Spanner database architectures that support enterprise workloads.
  • Cloud Spanner: Database Optimization and Scalability on Google Cloud
    • Welcome to Week 2 of the course. Week 2 focuses on optimizing database performance, automating database operations, and deploying scalable database architectures using Cloud Spanner. You will learn how to optimize database cost and performance, automate operational database tasks, and implement data migration and replication strategies when moving workloads to Google Cloud. This module also includes practical demonstrations that show how to manage Cloud Spanner environments, including evaluating backup and recovery operations, monitoring database metrics, configuring read replicas, and implementing scaling strategies. By the end of this week, you will be able to deploy scalable and highly available Cloud Spanner databases and optimize them for enterprise-scale workloads.
