Overview

يهدف هذا المساق إلى تعريف المتعلم المبتدئ بالمعلومات العامة والأساسية حول أحد أهم الجوانب التطبيقية في طب الأسنان، وهو أساسيات تكنولوجيا صناعة الأسنان. يُعد فني الأسنان جزءًا أساسيًا من الفريق الطبي، حيث يقوم بتصميم وتصنيع التعويضات السنية التي تعيد للمرضى وظيفة الفم الجمالية والوظيفية بعد فقدان الأسنان أو تلفها. يتناول هذا المساق المبادئ الأساسية لتقنيات تصنيع الأسنان، بدءًا من التعرف على الأدوات و المواد المستخدمة وخصائصها بالاضافه الى التطبيق العملي لصبّ الطبعات والنماذج السنية، وصولًا إلى مراحل تصنيع التركيبات المختلفة مثل التيجان والجسور والأطقم الكاملة والجزئية. كما يهدف هذا المساق إلى توضيح العلاقة بين الدقة في العمل المخبري وجودة التعويض السني النهائي، إضافةً إلى إكساب الطلبة فهمًا عامًا للتكامل بين الجانب العملي والتقني من جهة، والجانب السريري من جهة أخرى.

Syllabus

Introduction to dental technology

This module introduces students to the fundamentals of dental technology, including the dental team and the role of the technician, the main branches of dental technology, essential lab safety practices, and the key tools and instruments. Students will gain the knowledge and skills needed to work safely and effectively in a dental lab environment.

Impression pouring

This module covers the fundamentals of impression pouring, including different types of gypsum products, landmarks of the maxillary and mandibular arches, and the procedures for accurate impression pouring. Students will learn to apply essential techniques and select the appropriate materials for each patient case

Special tray

This module introduces the special tray, covering its definition, roles, materials, and components. Students will learn both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to fabricate a special tray for partially dentate patients

Record blocks

This module introduces record blocks, covering their roles, materials, and components. Students will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to fabricate record blocks for edentulous patients

Cast preparation

This module covers the fundamentals of fixed prosthodontics, including the definition of fixed prostheses and the cast preparation process using the pindex system. Students will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for creating accurate dental casts.
