Syllabus
- Week 1: Estimating Project Costs
- Understand construction estimating principles and the factors that influence project costs throughout the project lifecycle. Examine different types of estimates, key cost considerations, and the role of overhead and profit in preparing accurate project budgets.
- Week 2 : Project Planning and Scheduling
- Develop an understanding of the construction planning and scheduling process from initial planning through schedule review. Examine scheduling methods, activity sequencing, and communication practices that help keep construction projects organized and on schedule.
- Week 3: Controlling Project Cost, Time, and Quality
- Examine the project control cycle and the essential practices for monitoring construction project costs and performance. Understand cost categories, cost control techniques, and job site management strategies that help keep projects efficient and on track.
- Week 4: Project Administration
- Explore the communication and administrative processes that support successful construction project execution. Learn how submittals, payment applications, change management, construction law, and safety practices contribute to effective project delivery.
