Overview

Today's data plays a large part in our daily lives and in business decisions. It is the basis for up and coming business technologies such as AI, machine learning, and big data. This course will assist you in learning more about the Data+ certification offered by CompTIA, which shows competency for professionals who need to make data-driven business decisions. It will guide you through the five main objectives on the exam: data concepts and environments, data mining, data analysis, data visualization, and governance, quality and controls. After finishing the course, you will be able to define important data-related terms, demonstrate proficiency in using data mining and analysis to make important business decisions, and communicate and report insights gained from data analytics.

Syllabus

Data concepts and environments

In this module, we'll introduce you to data concepts and environments. We'll discuss topics such as data sources, types of data structures, and different types of data stores.

Data mining

This module will define basic characteristics of data mining. It will cover terms and definitions of ETL, ELT, DDL, and DML and will also discuss such topics as performance and query optimization.

Data analysis

This module will discuss such topics as data visualizations, data analytics and regression analysis. These topics can be used in conjunction with AI and machine learning technologies.

Data visualization

This module will cover data visualizations and data integration for business analysis and final reports. Additional topics such as real time data analysis will be covered, as well as databoard deployments and various data sources.

Governance, quality and controls

This module will discuss the importance of data governance and data security. It will address the need to protect data and the various methods of data protection, covering topics such as data classification and PI compliance.
