Learners will explore the rationale behind comps, understand where it fits within broader valuation methodologies, and learn how to define a comparable peer group and select appropriate multiples. The focus is on building a solid conceptual foundation to analyze and compare businesses effectively.
  • Data, Adjustments, and Calculations
    • This module takes learners deeper into the mechanics of comps by focusing on data preparation, adjustments, and calculations. Students will learn how to adjust share counts for dilution, incorporate cash and cash equivalents, and interpret financial leverage. The module also covers the application of key valuation multiples, Last Twelve Months (LTM) adjustments, and the process of gathering and organizing consistent financial data to prepare a professional comps sheet.
  • Advanced Applications and Interview Insights
    • This module focuses on applying comparable company analysis in advanced scenarios and preparing for professional interviews. Learners will examine takeover premiums, special valuation cases such as REITs, and the role of comps in M&A transactions.
