This Environmental Due Diligence course examines why the process is important and when it should be a part of the overall credit analysis, along with what elements and steps go into the actual ESA itself and, subsequently, what information and recommendations will generally appear in the corresponding report. You will gain a clear understanding of the different phases of Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), including Phase I and Phase II, and how each stage contributes to identifying potential environmental risks. The course will also highlight common environmental concerns such as contamination, hazardous materials, and regulatory compliance issues that may impact lending decisions. In addition, you will learn how to interpret environmental reports, assess the severity of identified risks, and determine appropriate mitigation strategies. By connecting environmental findings to credit risk, this course equips you with the skills to incorporate environmental due diligence into well-informed lending and underwriting decisions.
