By the end of this course, you will be able to choose the right gear for your video style, dial in proper camera settings, plan effective shoots, and confidently capture professional-looking footage using handheld and gimbal techniques. In this class, Kent Hart walks you through the three essentials every successful videographer needs: Knowledge, Mentality, and Community. This course is designed primarily for beginners who want to stop guessing and start creating with confidence, though experienced creators can use it as a focused refresher. You’ll learn essential gear options (without overspending), master camera settings for high-quality results, build a pre-production workflow, and understand the balance between technical precision and creative storytelling. Kent also covers composition, lighting techniques, stabilization, and the mindset shift required to grow as a director—not just a camera operator. To succeed, you don’t need prior professional experience—just access to a camera (even a basic one) and a genuine desire to improve. If you’re ready to stop watching from the sidelines and start building your creative future, this class gives you the foundation to do exactly that.
