Explore the foundations of Web3 and blockchain technology and understand how they are shaping the next generation of digital systems. In this course, you’ll begin with the evolution of the web and the emerging Web3 ecosystem before examining how blockchain works and why it matters. You’ll learn about digital assets and tokens, Bitcoin transactions, smart contracts, and core blockchain design principles. You’ll also explore the practical challenges organizations face when implementing blockchain solutions, helping you evaluate both the potential and limitations of the technology. This course is non-technical (i.e. no coding required) and is intended for a broad audience.

  • The Rise of Web3
    • In this module, you'll explore the emerging Web3 ecosystem.
  • Blockchain Fundamentals
    • What exactly is blockchain, and why does it matter for the future of finance? In this module, you'll explore the core building blocks of blockchain systems. You will understand how blockchain establishes trust without intermediaries, how digital assets and smart contracts work.
  • Blockchain Design Principles and Implementation Challenges
    • In this module, you'll learn what design principles shape blockchain architecture and get a clear understanding of how these technologies are setting the stage for innovation in fintech.
  • Evaluation
    • This module will test your understanding of Web3 and Blockchain Fundamentals for Fintech.
