They’ll examine how individual actions influence workplace safety outcomes, compare leading BBS frameworks, and understand the psychological principles behind safe and unsafe behaviors. Through case examples, learners will analyze how organizations apply BBS models to reduce incidents, and practice mapping behaviors to safety outcomes in their own work settings.
  • Lesson 2: Observation Techniques and Feedback Strategies
    • This lesson explores the practical techniques used to observe workplace behaviors and provide feedback that reinforces safe practices. Learners will examine structured observation methods, including defining critical behaviors, recording at-risk and safe actions, and avoiding common biases during observation. They’ll also practice delivering both positive reinforcement and constructive coaching in ways that build trust and accountability. Through real-world industry examples, learners will discover how consistent observation-feedback cycles reduce incidents, encourage peer-to-peer accountability, and foster a proactive safety culture.
  • Lesson 3: Reinforcement and Coaching Strategies for Sustained Safe Behaviors
    • This lesson explores practical strategies for reinforcing safe workplace behaviors and coaching employees to reduce at-risk actions. Learners will examine evidence-based reinforcement techniques, including positive feedback, recognition programs, and behavior modeling. They will also practice coaching conversations that correct unsafe behaviors constructively, maintain trust, and strengthen team engagement.
