Azure environments grow complex fast. This course builds the skills to keep large Azure deployments efficient, compliant, and healthy—covering cost management, governance, repeatable deployments, and infrastructure monitoring. You'll start with FinOps fundamentals: identifying the factors that drive Azure costs, forecasting spend with the Pricing and TCO calculators, tracking costs through Microsoft Cost Management, and using resource tags for cost allocation and reporting. Next, you'll set governance guardrails with Azure Policy to enforce organizational standards, Resource Locks to protect critical resources, the Service Trust Portal to support compliance needs, and Microsoft Purview for data governance and classification. The course then covers deployment and monitoring. You'll learn the tools for interacting with Azure—portal, CLI, PowerShell, and Cloud Shell—and how Azure Resource Manager and Infrastructure as Code enable consistent, repeatable deployments. You'll see how Azure Arc extends management to on-premises and multi-cloud resources. Finally, you'll use Azure Advisor, Service Health, and Azure Monitor to optimize performance, track health, and catch issues early. Mock exams and Microsoft's official AZ-900 practice test round out the course, giving you targeted preparation for the certification exam. Who this is for: Cloud managers, DevOps practitioners, IT administrators, and solution architects who want stronger cost, governance, and monitoring practices in Azure.

Syllabus

  • Azure Cost Management & FinOps
    • This module introduces Azure cost management and FinOps practices. You will learn the factors that drive Azure costs, how to estimate spend with the Pricing and TCO calculators, how to monitor and control spending with Microsoft Cost Management, and how resource tags support cost allocation and reporting. By the end, you will be able to explain what drives Azure costs and put practical controls in place to monitor and manage cloud spend.
  • Governance, Compliance, & Trust
    • This module covers the tools used to enforce governance and maintain compliance across an Azure estate. You will learn how Azure Policy enforces organizational standards at scale, how resource locks protect critical resources from accidental change, how the Service Trust Portal supports audit and compliance needs, and how Microsoft Purview enables data governance and classification. By the end, you will be able to put guardrails and data-governance controls in place for a growing Azure environment.
  • Resource Deployment & Infrastructure Monitoring
    • This module covers how to deploy Azure resources consistently and monitor them effectively. You will learn the tools for interacting with Azure, how Azure Resource Manager and Infrastructure as Code enable repeatable deployments, how Azure Arc extends management to on-premises and multi-cloud resources, and how Azure Advisor, Service Health, and Azure Monitor help you optimize, track health, and monitor resources. By the end, you will be able to recommend consistent deployment practices and a monitoring strategy that catches issues early.
  • Mock Exams
    • In this module you will get hands-on practice which will help you pass the AZ-900 certification
