In this path, you will learn the basics of Generative AI and how to use it in a hands-on way. You'll learn how to construct effective prompts with Chat AI interfaces like ChatGPT or Claude as well as image description, creation, and manipulation.

Syllabus

  • Understanding Generative AI Methods
    • This lesson introduces the core capabilities of generative AI and explains how large language models, diffusion models, and multimodal models create content from learned patterns. You will learn to distinguish between different workplace tasks—like drafting text or describing images—while understanding why these models sometimes produce hallucinations that require human verification.
  • Selecting AI Use Cases
    • You'll learn to evaluate workplace tasks for AI readiness using the AI Task Fit Screen, which balances value against risk, repeatability, and review needs. The lesson guides you through mapping your routine work into categories and selecting a low-risk pilot task with measurable success criteria to ensure a safe and productive start.
  • Writing Effective Prompts
    • This lesson introduces the RACE framework to help you move from vague AI requests to high-quality deliverables. You will learn how to clarify stakeholder needs before prompting and how to troubleshoot weak outputs by refining specific prompt elements rather than just asking the model to try again.
  • Reading Images with AI
    • This lesson teaches you how to use Vision AI to describe workplace images like shipment photos or charts. You will learn to request structured descriptions for specific tasks, tell the difference between objective visible facts and inferred guesses, and refine those outputs into professional deliverables like alt text or project updates.
  • Prompting Image Generation Clearly
    • This lesson introduces the Image Prompt Anatomy, a five-part framework for creating specific, professional visuals. You will learn how to translate abstract communication goals into concrete scenes and layer details like style, composition, and constraints to avoid generic results. By mastering this structured approach, you can move from vague requests to high-quality, on-brand images through deliberate drafting and iterative refinement.
  • Responsible Image Editing
    • This unit explains how to professionally modify existing images using AI tools while maintaining brand standards and accuracy. You will learn to use the Image Edit Brief to give specific instructions on what to preserve and what to change, ensuring your team photos or hero images look natural. The lesson concludes with a checklist to evaluate your visuals for bias, accuracy, and disclosure before they go live.
