This class is open to actors of all ages, and will be conducted online via Zoom. Immerse yourself in live, interactive sessions featuring Q&A opportunities and the chance to showcase your skills for personalized feedback from Dawn. You will be able to download recordings of your performance for educational purposes only. You can also share your headshot, resume, and voiceover reel with Dawn for feedback and instruction only. All materials will remain under the studio’s control and will not be used for casting, employment, or representation purposes.
Dawn Hershey started working at Nickelodeon Animation Studios in 1995. There, she worked her way up through the ranks from Receptionist to Casting Assistant, Casting Coordinator, Casting Supervisor, and finally Casting Director. She joined the Casting Society of America (CSA) in 1999 and has been a full-time Casting Director ever since.
From Nickelodeon, she moved on to Icebox.com in 2000 where she was hired as the Executive Director of Casting to cast and record over 50 animated shorts for the internet.
After the dot-com bubble burst, she jumped with 3 Icebox associates to co-found Blindlight in 2001 (A production services company for the video-game industry) and Dawn oversaw all of the voice-over production there for 7 years. Casting voices for video games allowed her to create, develop and hone amazing organizational systems for casting large quantities of characters in short amounts of time.
While holding down full-time jobs at each of these companies, she continued to build her freelance career. She continues to cast new media projects, commercial VO’s, animated films, direct videos, and animated television shows.
