The third course in our five‑part Beginner Spanish series is designed for students who have completed Spanish Beginner 2 or an equivalent introductory level. In this course, you will strengthen your foundation and gain more confidence communicating in everyday situations.
Below is an overview of what you will learn in Spanish Beginner 3:
- Communication: Identifying and describing common items, expressing needs, shopping for products, asking about prices, discussing preferences, describing physical appearance and personality, talking about likes and dislikes, comparing interests, asking others about their preferences, and talking about personal relationships.
- Grammar: Demonstratives (este, esta, estos, estas, esto), noun and adjective combinations (el, la, los with adjectives), que with nouns, cuál and cuáles, tener que with an infinitive, the verbs ir and preferir, the verb gustar, quantifiers (muy, bastante, un poco), possessive adjectives, también and tampoco, and the use of diacritical accents.
- Vocabulary: Numbers over 100, colors, clothing and accessories, everyday objects, uses of the verb llevar, common expressions with ir, family-related terms, personality adjectives, and music-related vocabulary.
- Phonetics: Pronunciation of the erre and intonation patterns in questions.
Note: If a class session falls on a holiday, the course schedule will extend by one additional week.
