Você fala espanhol? Our Fast Track Brazilian Portuguese course is specifically designed for online learning, meeting once weekly for 90 minutes in small groups of three to seven students. The intimate class size ensures personalized attention and ample opportunity for interactive practice.
This accelerated program targets students who are native or fluent speakers of Spanish but have little or no background in Portuguese. Students fluent in French or Italian may also find this course valuable, as these Romance languages share structural similarities with Portuguese that can facilitate rapid acquisition.
The course builds strategically upon the linguistic similarities between Spanish and Portuguese, allowing students to progress at an accelerated pace through essential communication skills. Over eight weeks, you will build basic vocabulary and master conversational topics needed for everyday communication. You will practice Portuguese pronunciation and develop competency with both present and past verb tenses, establishing a solid grammatical foundation for further study.
Upon completion of the eight-week program, a Level II Portuguese course will be formed if sufficient student interest exists for continued learning. Students will receive an electronic copy of the textbook before the first class session begins.
