This workshop takes embroidery into unexpected new territory by combining needlework with photography and mixed media. Students will learn to stitch directly onto paper, explore the process of transferring photographic images onto fabric, and then enrich those surfaces with embroidery, paint, and collage to produce layered, genuinely original works of art.
No embroidery experience is necessary. This class is designed to be accessible to complete beginners while offering experienced embroiderers a fresh, creative challenge and a new way of thinking about what stitch-based art can be.
