This training goes beyond the basics to unlock the full capabilities of Microsoft Copilot. Participants will learn how to do “deep research,” analyze documents and data, and seamlessly integrate Copilot into their daily workflow across Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Edge, and more.
Deep Research: Lunch multiple reasoning inquiries and recursively calibrate reasoning based on multiple passes at retrieved data and re-examining prior assumptions.
- Use Cases. See useful examples, both home- and work-related, where deep research outperforms basic Copilot prompts
- Avoiding Hallucinations: Practice fact-checking Copilot’s outputs using external verification techniques and prompt calibration
- Deep Dive: Create and revise structured long-form content directly inside Copilot.
- Vibe Coding: Build and edit small scripts, widgets, and web pages in the Pages feature.
- Excel: Ask Copilot to analyze trends, explain formulas, generate charts, and debug complex spreadsheets.
- Word: Accelerate drafting, summarizing, editing, and rephrasing large documents with live context.
- PowerPoint: Rapidly generate decks, rework slide tone and design, and translate business content into visuals.
Copilot in MS Edge: Explore the features Copilot offers in the Microsoft web browser.
Visuals: Generate images that match a specific aesthetic by reverse-engineering a reference and providing guidance on the desired output.
- Style Extraction: Upload an existing image or provide a link, and ask Copilot to describe its mood, composition, coloring, and visual style.
- Prompt Foundation: Use Copilot’s descriptive output as the base for your new image prompt.
- Intent + Context: Add the subject, setting, or use-case for the new image to ensure relevance.
- Visual Enhancements: Refine your prompt by specifying composition (e.g. wide shot, portrait), lighting (e.g. soft, cinematic, dramatic), era (e.g. vintage, modern), coloring (e.g. high-contrast, pastel), and style (e.g. oil painting, editorial, photorealistic) to guide Copilot toward an image that fits your exact needs.
- Iteration: Rework the prompt with Copilot’s help to fine-tune the result and achieve visual alignment with your goals.
