Introduction to billing and coding basics, including roles and responsibilities. Students will also learn about other administrative responsibilities, including the patient privacy rules, ethics, compliance plans, and other legal issues affecting the medical office.
Please read: Successfully complete all 6 courses to earn a certificate of completion in Medical Billing and Coding from El Camino College. The six-part course also prepares you to take the National HealthCareer Association (NHA) CBCS (Certified Billing Coding Specialist) exam and includes the NHA exam preparation materials, the CBCS exam itself, and the proctoring service fee. The Medical Terminology and Medical Insurance Handbook textbooks are included with the course and will be provide in a PDF format.
