Freedom in your body and breath is the foundation for a free, expressive voice. Yet accessing that freedom - especially with dynamic energy and vibrant resonance - can feel elusive. In higher-stakes moments, when you want your voice to be clear and alive, long-held habits often surface. Over time, many of us have developed patterns of tension that limit spontaneity, particularly in public settings.
In this class, we will guide you through Part II of this series on Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement Lessons® (ATM) and the Linklater Voice Method. The focus of this series will explore how increased awareness transforms the way you utilize your nervous system, creating the conditions for deep curiosity, embodied learning, and authentic expression. Each class begins with a Feldenkrais ATM lesson designed to develop a more refined, kinesthetic understanding of the muscular/skeletal relationship. From there you’ll move to Linklater voice exercises that open the resonators of your vocal range, focusing on a new resonator in each class.
As you gently unwind years of habitual tensions held in the muscles and tissues around the bones of your foundation, you unlock the potential to express your full, resonant self - body and voice integrated.
This workshop is for anyone interested in voice and somatic practice. This is Part II of Feldenkrais & Voice Series. Students of all levels are welcome.
Please have a piece of text that you are passionate about - a monologue, Shakespeare speech, public speech, poem, etc.
