In this one-hour, online, live workshop we will look to one of our favorite modern painters, MatthewWong, for inspiration as we try to capture a meaningful place with bold colors, winding paths and energetic marks. A short video here shares Wong’s work.
Come to a class with an image of your favorite place, it could be the desert, the ocean, a farm, a cabin in Nova Scotia, a cafe in Paris.
We will practice a variety of marks and talk about analogous and monochromatic palettes.
We will focus on creating a sense of depth and an expansive world so don't select any image that is too close up.
Level of experience: Any level, from total beginner to expert.
Materials: Basic acrylic or oil painting materials like paint, paper/canvas, and brushes.
