Discover your authentic voice as a writer while developing your unique creative perspective and storytelling abilities. This class affirms that you can write with power and clarity, and you will astonish yourself with the quality of work you produce.
The curriculum strengthens your creative imagination and personal voice while teaching fundamental skills in memoir and fiction writing. This ongoing class is designed for individuals committed to developing a consistent writing practice over time. Prior experience is not required, though dedication to the writing process enhances your development and enriches the group experience.
Our teaching methodology employs calming meditations to quiet self-doubt, drawing on music, literature, and mythological references to catalyze creative expression. Within the supportive group environment, participants slow down to fully examine single moments from lived experience through a writer's lens, allowing narratives to emerge naturally from internal silence. By learning to follow rather than direct your stories, you access writing that feels fresh, unforced, original, and delightfully unexpected.
The Writing Studio welcomes a diverse community of writers from all backgrounds, cultures, religions, ages, and lifestyles. Both experienced and beginning writers participate together, including individuals for whom English is an additional language. Classes maintain an intentional small size of seven writers maximum to ensure personalized attention and meaningful group interaction.
Please bring a notebook and pen, or bring your laptop. Weekly classes are ongoing and can begin any Monday or Thursday evening, or any Wednesday afternoon. Additional session times can be arranged directly with the studio upon request.
Class Schedule: Mondays and Thursdays: 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM; Wednesdays: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
