Level 3 is best suited for students who have studied Chinese for at least 1.5 years or who have achieved a score of 90 or higher on both the HSK1 and HSK2 tests. It may also be slightly easier for those who have passed HSK3.
Students should be able to read a minimum of 600 characters and must know how to type in Chinese as well as read Chinese characters.
While writing ability is not required, it is strongly preferred. Although this class is accessible for those who are conversationally fluent, it might be challenging for students who don’t read or write any Chinese characters.
Students are expected to complete this level in 12-18 months.
How do I know if this is my level?
Try to describe what you did last weekend or what you did for work. Can you manage to have a 5-minute interactive conversation with a native Chinese-speaking person using only Chinese? If the answer is yes, you should be able to manage this level.
