AI systems help specialists to diagnose diseases, to personalize learning, automate administrative tasks, and optimize industrial processes. The benefits are clear: greater efficiency, improved decisions, hyperpersonalized communication...
But AI systems also bring risks: biased training data can lead to discrimination. Automated systems often lack transparency. Security flaws can be exploited. And who is responsible when an AI system provides a wrong decision?
As AI becomes more and more embedded in our societies, clear rules are essential to prevent harm, protect human rights and ensure that innovation is responsible and inclusive.
In this short course of just 4 modules, we explore questions such as:
- What are the risks and benefits of AI?
- Why do we need AI regulation?
- How should we regulate AI?
- Which rules already apply?
Assess legal, ethical, and societal impacts of AI, including responsibility and fundamental rights.
