Overview

A human- and learning-centered mini-course for professionals. You get hands-on training to use generative AI responsibly, safely and effectively in real work tasks. Open course with the possibility of getting a certificate. Target audience is broad but we have extra materials for Business professionals, University employees and Educators.

"Turn curiosity into capability with a hands-on Generative AI course for the workplace and for your own competence development.

  • Learn to use AI safely, ethically, and effectively—no coding required.
  • Study at your own pace and join (optional) live, expert-led sessions and peer-learning events.
  • Earn a digital certificate from Chalmers University of Technology.

This practical, human-centered course moves you from “What can AI do?” to “Here’s how I’ll use it tomorrow” as well as ""This I won't use it for"". You’ll design smarter prompts, try simple agents, learn to learn with AI and tailor a lightweight chatbot for a purpose of your choice. All while mapping risks like bias, privacy, and IP. The course is tool-agnostic (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) and welcomes beginners. You’ll also build a shared AI vocabulary that strengthens team collaboration and change adoption in real workflows.

Plan on ~25 hours, including ~10 hours of track-specific practice, delivered through self-study plus three live sessions and three peer-learning meetups. Taught in English (with Swedish online materials). The curriculum aligns with the EU AI Act’s principles and offers actionable guidance for responsible AI use. Next start: November 2025.

Choose your track:

  • Higher-education staff (researchers, teachers, administrators) looking to use AI in research, teaching, and operations.
  • Secondary-school teachers who want classroom-ready workflows, fair assessment strategies, and AI literacy for students.
  • Business professionals across all office work like operations, marketing/sales, product/innovation, leadership, HR etc. wanting to understand and apply AI in their own profession.

Join a global community building practical AI literacy, prompt engineering fluency, and ethical AI habits, so you can create better content faster, make sharper decisions, and lead confident, compliant AI adoption at work."

Syllabus

The course is divided into five modules:

Module 1: What GenAI Can Do Today
Where you are introduced to the subject by getting an up-to-date view of what is possible and appropriate to do with these tools as well as reasonable expectations of them.

Module 2: Learning With AI
Where you get a better understanding of how to use AI tools for lifelong learning. Focus is on competence development, enhancing engagement and higher order thinking instead of outsourcing the thinking.

Module 3: Profession Specific Use Cases
Specialize in how to use AI tools within your profession. Choose between three different tracks: university staff, secondary-school teachers, and business professionals.

Module 4: What is AI
Where we take a step back to get a deeper understanding of what these tools actually are, why they work like they do, some moral considerations and how that affects the way we use them.

Module 5: Driving Change or Keeping Up
Where we focus on the human in this paradigm shift; how it affects us all and how we can make the change happen.
