This specialization is intended for anyone interested in digital products and user experiences. While AI and 'vibe coding' have dramatically eased the entry points for building digital UX's, mastering the work of building something worthwhile and building it well is as much of a challenge as it ever was. In this specialization, you'll learn a disciplined but humanistic approach for going from idea to release.
Syllabus
- Course 1: Coding User Interfaces with AI
- Course 2: Coding Algorithms with AI
- Course 3: Coding Data Models with AI

In this second course in the ‘Coding with AI for MBAs’ specialization, we’ll continue with a contemporary, AI-forward, product-first approach to coding. As an MBA or generalist, this course will help you go from design to code for ‘Controllers’, or ‘algorithms’. Understanding the process of building and maintaining algorithms with AI will both help you build great products yourself as well as make yourself a better collaborator to your engineering-focused colleagues. We’ll be coding in Javascript (JS), but mostly we’ll be focused on the underlying design and engineering principles for building user interfaces. This course was developed at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and is taught by top-ranked faculty.

In this final course in the ‘Coding with AI’ specialization, we’ll close with an integrated approach to building full applications with a working Data Model, View (UI), and set of Controllers (or ‘algorithms’). As an MBA or generalist, this course will specifically help you go from design to code with ‘Data Models’, which generally means databases of some kind. Understanding the process of building and maintaining Data Models with AI will both help you build great products yourself as well as make yourself a better collaborator to your engineering-focused colleagues. We’ll be a noSQL database, but mostly we’ll be focused on the underlying design and engineering principles for building and operating Data Models. In this final course, we’ll also cover the Cursor application, an AI-forward IDE (integrated development environment). This course was developed at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and is taught by top-ranked faculty.

The secret is out: AI is changing everything about the way we work. Few things have changed more than the way we go from idea to code. If you’re an MBA or a generalist of any sort, all this is very much working in your favor. While coding well is a lifelong pursuit like any other, getting started is now a lot easier. This course will get you started with a product-first coding process that will both help you build great products yourself using AI as well as make yourself a better collaborator to your engineering-focused colleagues. In this first course, we’re going to focus on going from design to code for ‘Views’ or user interfaces (UI’s). We’ll code in HTML & CSS, but mostly we’ll be focused on the underlying design and engineering principles for building user interfaces. This course was developed at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and is taught by top-ranked faculty.
