Classical thermodynamics will be presented as a deductive discipline based on four fundamental assumptions. The laws of thermodynamics will be derived from a small number of assumptions based on our everyday experience. The results of these laws will then help us solve practical problems arising in modern chemical/biochemical engineering related to the equilibrium properties of systems.
