I was incredibly impressed with the amount of information this course contains. Drs. Oberg and Sessions do a phenomenal job of presenting information in a way that's coherent and easy to understand without dumbing-down the material. I looked forward to each new module and I came away with a much clearer understanding of the many ways in which disease has shaped the course of history. - and I also look at history (and even current events) much differently than I did before this course. I'm still amazed that this course was offered free of charge.
**NOTE - I highly recommend you purchase the recommended books. They will really enhance your understanding of the topic at hand. I found mine fairly cheaply at Half Price Books and through Amazon.com

Great course to understand the important role played by seldom-noticed factors, e.g., germs and diseases, in history. I learned a lot about world history, my country's history (when doing self-directed research) and the diseases themselves during this mooc. The instructors are knowledgeable and topics are interesting.

Absolutely fascinating course on how disease has affected history. It makes you wonder how the world would have been different if we had not been at the mercy of microbes and viruses.
