This course provides a comprehensive introduction to Amazon Macie, AWS's data security service designed for sensitive data discovery and protection at scale. Participants will learn how Amazon Macie helps organizations address evolving data privacy regulations while managing growing volumes of data stored in Amazon S3. The course covers Amazon Macie's core features, including automated sensitive data discovery, assessment of S3 bucket security controls, and actionable reporting features. Through practical demonstrations, attendees will explore how to implement Macie to detect various types of sensitive information such as PII, financial data, and custom-defined data patterns with regex. The training also examines integration options with other AWS services to create automated workflows for security findings and remediation.
