In this course, you will learn what AI is and understand its applications and use cases and how it is transforming our lives. You will explore basic AI concepts including machine learning, deep learning, and neural networks as well as use cases and applications of AI. You will be exposed to concerns surrounding AI, including ethics, bias, jobs and the impacts on society.

You will take a glimpse of the future with AI, get advice for starting an AI related career, and wrap up the course by demonstrating AI in action with a mini project.

This AI for Everyone course does not require any programming or computer science expertise and is designed to introduce the basics of AI to anyone whether you have a technical background or not.

AI for Everyone: Master the Basics – Review

This course is an excellent introduction to artificial intelligence, especially for learners who don’t have a technical background but want to understand how AI works and how it's used in real-world applications. IBM does a great job breaking down complex concepts—such as machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and ethical AI—into simple, engaging lessons.

The hands-on simulations, including the Watson Studio AutoAI lab, make the material practical and help reinforce the concepts. I especially appreciated the sections on AI ethics, fairness, transparency, and privacy—topics that are vital yet often overlooked in beginner courses.

Overall, the course builds a strong foundation and offers clear explanations, real examples, and interactive exercises. I highly recommend it to anyone curious about AI or looking to understand how AI impacts business and society.

I have used key courses and especially professional certifications to add to my resume. I have a bachelor of science degree, but I don’t have a Masters Degree or PhD so this was a way to build practical credibility. Meaning that my knowledge wasn’t theoretical, I actually KNOW how to create transformative events because I have practiced them in my certifications.

For instance, I just added five courses on Diversity, Inclusion and Psychological Safety to my skills and talents. This demonstrates my desire to stay up to date in my thinking and education on behalf of my clients.

Some would say that I don’t need to do this because I’m not working in Human Resources or managing a team. But my clients are, and I want to be qualified to help them and to understand their challenges.

In most jobs I have had, I was the ONLY ONE in my company who was certified to facilitate creative problem solving sessions or to conduct strategic planning. And not only was I officially certified, I understood what to do and how to handle difficult situations during the discussions. These were mysterious topics to others, but I knew how to conduct the sessions and get results.

Its a bit like showing up to help cook a big meal and knowing how to do the difficult dishes in an elegant way. You move up fast when you can produce results and your knowledge is credible.
