Course description
How many of us thought that Covid-19 was a blip? That lockdowns and air travel bans when imposed in March 2020, would be lifted in a couple of weeks? This course aims to address what the Revenue Management departments should consider during a period of unprecedented demand change. The data points and calculations that go into transitioning to a period of low demand and then gaining quickly during revenue recovery.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the scale of the commercial impact on aviation created by the pandemic;
- Identify what is and what may become important to the consumer going forwards;
- Be able to list the guiding principles of pricing during a pandemic;
- Learn about some of the Commercial and Revenue management levers used to mitigate losses and speed up recovery;
- Explain how these levers, such as Demand Forecasting, Removal of Cancellation penalties and managing;
- Overbooking risk can be safely implemented and identify common pitfalls;
- Explain why and how the airline industry will need to plan and transition quickly within the Revenue Management area;
- Gain awareness of the importance of communication and avoiding silos with other areas.
