Apply Agile Project Management practices to improve planning, collaboration, stakeholder engagement, team leadership, estimation, and continuous improvement. This intermediate-level course guides you through essential Agile concepts and practical techniques that support value-driven project delivery. You will begin by exploring Agile roles, Iteration Zero, planning techniques, Definition of Done, Planning Poker, and value-based prioritization. Next, you'll learn how to identify and engage stakeholders, align expectations, communicate ROI, and use pre-project activities to support successful Agile initiatives. The course then focuses on building empowered Agile teams through servant leadership, communication strategies, motivation theories, conflict resolution, and team collaboration. Finally, you'll apply Agile estimation methods, Earned Value Management (EVM), risk analysis, forecasting, and continuous improvement practices to enhance predictability and project performance. Designed for professionals with a foundational understanding of Agile, this course combines quizzes, case-based scenarios, and real-world examples to reinforce practical application. By the end of the course, you'll be able to evaluate Agile planning approaches, strengthen stakeholder collaboration, lead high-performing teams, apply estimation and EVM techniques, and implement continuous improvement practices that support effective value delivery.

Syllabus

  • Agile Roles, Planning, and Collaboration
    • This module introduces learners to the foundational roles, practices, and collaborative processes within Agile project environments. It begins with defining key Agile roles and setting up initial project groundwork, including the concept of Iteration Zero. Learners explore the significance of team structure, leadership dynamics, and time management strategies such as time boxing. The module then delves into planning and estimation techniques, including the Definition of Done, Planning Poker, and financial tools for prioritizing backlog items. By the end of the module, learners will have a comprehensive understanding of how to initiate Agile projects effectively, align teams, and plan work based on value-driven and iterative delivery principles.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
    • This module explores the critical role of stakeholder engagement in Agile project success. It guides learners through identifying, classifying, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment, manage expectations, and deliver value. Emphasis is placed on continuous communication, value-driven planning, risk management, and early project activities like charters and wireframing. Through practical tools and strategies, learners will be equipped to foster transparency, drive collaboration, and support agile delivery with effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Team Empowerment and Leadership
    • This module focuses on building strong, collaborative Agile teams by cultivating leadership practices that empower individuals and encourage team ownership. It introduces foundational psychological models such as Maslow’s and Herzberg’s, explores communication and collaboration strategies, and emphasizes the importance of servant leadership and motivation. Through practical tools like team development stages, conflict resolution approaches, and empowerment tasks, learners will be equipped to foster resilient, self-directed, and high-performing teams.
  • Agile Estimation, Risk, and Improvement
    • This module equips learners to estimate work effectively, connect Agile delivery to Earned Value Management (EVM), and make data-informed trade-offs under real-world constraints. It then advances into schedule/cost performance forecasting and constraint balancing, before shifting to risk analysis, visualization, and continuous improvement practices. By the end, learners can integrate estimation, EVM metrics, risk sensing, and process optimization to improve flow, predictability, and value delivery.
