Futurism and Space Exploration

A very good course starting us off with very real questions for aspiring astronauts and space scientists such as should we colonize Venus or Mars first? After reviewing the danger involved in the possibility for exploration and a given surfacism to colonization the biggest dangers relating to atmosphere and pressure affecting health and weather. There is a somewhat positive look at cloud cities at first for Venus due to a more dynamic environment although the temperature could go to as high as 450 degrees C.
If we do decide to colonize one of the planets or send a crew to explore the question gaining validity is the growing belief in the thought that It may be more beneficial to send women instead of men into space or as least 1/2 of the crew. Should we decide to send women instead it is mainly because women have better overall vision and eye health than men and it costs less to maintain their nutrition than men but men have as much as a .5
higher rate of recovery from radiation than women.
The course also gives nine good examples of Nasa technologies that are paving the way to the future like the robotic glove, plants in space with automatic irrigation that links with the computer also. There might be many opportunities in space tech. products but a good opportunity in the future also for space mining of basic materials like metals.
If we do develop more advanced technologies without destroying the planet first, although as mentioned we will likely just destroy ourselves. We should star now to make plans to build the space arc mentioned in the course or perhaps the Dyson Sphere and also a vote to continue developing better and faster technologies like the warp drive and the faster than light travel. Now we will really be able to look at our goal to find a habitable planet other than ours and in time to become a real space faring race with terraforming capabilities. As for now according to this course even our better technologies like the TPF planet finder cannot give us enough information to the accuracy we would need to conclude we would survive once we got there.
Other solutions to surviving an apocalypse or an environmental failure like volcanoism, or sun damage and falling comets. We might look at going to underground cities in the future for survival instead of risking the population going to space but as it is we won't be leaving from the apocalypse easily due to the advancement of technologies in health, flight and other survival technologies. Our endless curiosity for space and planet discovery and possibilities of exploration should keep us going for a while though.
