Bring your own role-playing game to life by learning how to design and develop RPGs in Unity through a hands-on, project-based approach. In this course, you'll build the essential systems that power immersive RPG experiences, from character progression and quest design to inventory management and interactive user interfaces.
You'll begin by exploring core RPG mechanics, narrative-driven quests, world building, and terrain design to create engaging game environments. Next, you'll develop animated player characters and NPCs, implement inverse kinematics (IK), build character customization features, and create player interaction systems. You'll then construct game logic using Unity scripting, manage data persistence and scene transitions, and organize gameplay flow with global game management techniques. Finally, you'll develop a dynamic inventory system, interactive inventory UI, and a real-time HUD that reflects changing game states.
