Explore the fascinating and strikingly different wine worlds of Northern Italy's Trentino and Alto Adige, two neighboring regions that share a border but diverge sharply in culture, climate, grape varieties, and wine character.
This class examines the major wine denominations of both regions, covering the geographic and climatic factors that shape their wines, the indigenous and international grape varieties cultivated there, the German synonyms used for many Alto Adige wines, and an introduction to the foods and cultural traditions of each area. A portion of the session is devoted to reviewing northern Italian wine regions covered in prior classes.
