The Managing Microsoft Teams course is specifically designed for individuals aspiring to assume the Microsoft 365 Teams Administrator role. In this position, Microsoft Teams administrators are responsible for configuring, deploying, and managing Office 365 workloads associated with Microsoft Teams, ensuring efficient and effective collaboration and communication throughout an enterprise environment.
This comprehensive course addresses six central elements that form the foundation of Teams administration: an overview of Microsoft Teams architecture and associated Office 365 workloads; implementing governance policies and controls; establishing security and compliance frameworks; preparing the organizational environment for deployment; deploying and managing Teams; and managing both collaboration and communication features within Microsoft Teams.
The Microsoft Teams overview section provides participants with detailed knowledge of Teams architecture and its relationship to other Office 365 workloads. You will also gain an understanding of security, compliance considerations, and fundamental management approaches for Microsoft Teams.
In the implementing governance, security, and compliance section, you will plan and configure governance for Office 365 groups, including expiration and naming policies. Security implementation covers configuring conditional access, multi-factor authentication, and Threat Management for Microsoft Teams. Compliance implementation focuses on using Data Loss Prevention policies, eDiscovery cases, and supervision policies to protect sensitive information.
The environment preparation section guides you through planning an upgrade from Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams. You will evaluate upgrade paths, understand coexistence and upgrade modes, manage meeting migrations, and configure appropriate settings. Network planning and configuration for Microsoft Teams is addressed, along with deploying and managing Microsoft Teams endpoints.
In deploying and managing teams, you will learn how to create and manage teams, as well as managing membership and access for both internal and external users. The managing collaboration section covers chat and collaboration experiences, team settings, and private channel creation policies. Additionally, you will manage settings for Teams apps, including app setup policies, apps, bots, and connectors, and publishing custom apps. The course concludes with managing communication in Microsoft Teams, covering live events and meeting experiences, managing phone numbers and Phone Systems, and troubleshooting audio, video, and client issues.
