ABOUT THE COURSE:
This course offers a detailed study of the concept of Laya and Layakari in Indian music, exploring theirtheoretical foundation and practical applications. Students will learn different types of Layakari such as Thah, Dugun,Tigun, Chaugun, as well as advanced forms like Aad, Kuad, and Biad. Emphasis will be placed on calculations, relation withSam, and creative use in various Taals and compositions. The course aims to develop analytical, compositional, andperformance skills essential for mastering rhythmic artistry in Tabla and Indian classical music.
INTENDED AUDIENCE:Aspiring Tabla Players, Tabla Students, Vocalists, Instrumentalists etc.
PREREQUISITES:Intermediate (12th) with music/Tabla subject or 3 to 5 year experience of Tabla playing
