Although I enjoyed this course and thought the content was useful and well presented, I had hoped to use the time towards CPE credits for my CISSP cert. At the beginning of the course it was stated that a certificate of completion would be given, but then UW decided to not provide certificates to participants.

Be aware that the courses provided by UW for InfoSec will not come with a completion certificate.

A good course with practical insights into information security field. The instructor and a guest lecturers have good grip on their areas. However there is no certificate of completion from instructor, UW or even Coursera. Moreover the total marks are not displayed at the end.

This course provides key information about IS&RM. Lectures gives a lot of practical information and real-life examples.

The course was OK, but unless you are passionate about the subject, there are better uses of your time. Actually, if you *are* passionate about the subject there are probably *much* better uses of your time. But it is a fairly painless introduction for the neophyte.

Be aware that the course is focused on management and governance issues of information security and not technical ones -- that is, there is no programming and no examination of specific vulnerabilities. It is a course for people who dream of becoming corporate Chief Information Security Officers. To each their own, I guess.

Finally, the lack of a certificate of completion is flat-out rude. The University of Washington is really shooting itself in the foot. It doesn't make Coursera look very good either.
