Recommended for all employees, as anyone may encounter Bloodborne Pathogens (BBPs) in the workplace through first aid response, accidents, or exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials. BBPs are infectious microorganisms present in human blood that can cause serious diseases such as Hepatitis B (HBV), Hepatitis C (HCV), and HIV if they enter the body through broken skin, cuts, or mucous membranes of the eyes, nose, or mouth. Because bloodborne pathogens are not visible to the naked eye, exposure risks may not be immediately apparent. This course provides employees with essential knowledge on recognizing exposure risks, using proper protective measures, following safe work practices, and responding correctly after a potential exposure to reduce the risk of infection and ensure workplace safety and compliance.
