The course teaches pilots how to apply a risk management approach to planning a flight into deteriorated, complex, and often dangerous weather. Real life scenarios are utilized that allows the student to analyze a potential flight and make their own decisions based on provided weather and aeronautical information, which is then followed by a discussion with a CFII.To reinforce principles of course and make them part of the student's training, the course includes a companion document for CFIIs which helps the CFII know what the student learned and provides practical exercises for the CFII to incorporate into their student training curriculum.
