Storage is the backbone of every production Linux environment — and this course gives you the skills to manage it at an enterprise level, then proves you're ready to be certified. You'll start with the fundamentals of block storage: creating, modifying, and removing physical partitions; configuring and managing swap space; and creating filesystems that mount correctly at boot or on demand. You'll also apply mount options and filesystem features that support stable, predictable behavior in production. The course then moves into enterprise storage patterns. You'll mount remote file shares using NFS and manage Network Block Devices for extended storage capacity. You'll use LVM to create, resize, and migrate logical volumes across multi-disk configurations — the kind of dynamic storage management that production workloads demand. Advanced filesystem permissions and storage performance monitoring under real-world conditions round out the enterprise module. The final module is dedicated entirely to LFCS exam readiness. You'll consolidate your knowledge across all program topics, use mock exam results to identify remaining gaps, and build a focused final revision plan. The performance-based mock exams are designed to simulate the real LFCS exam environment — testing your typing speed, command accuracy, and system knowledge under timed conditions. Who this is for: Advanced system engineers, data storage professionals, and LFCS candidates who have completed the prior courses in this program and are ready to finish their storage skills and sit the certification exam.

Syllabus

  • Basic Storage and File Systems
    • This module covers the foundational Linux storage tasks needed to prepare disks and mount usable filesystems. Learners work with partitions, swap space, filesystem creation, boot-time mounting, and common mount features and options.
  • Enterprise Storage Solutions
    • This module builds on basic storage by introducing the scalable and networked storage tools used in enterprise Linux environments. Learners work with NFS, network block devices, storage performance monitoring, LVM, and advanced filesystem permissions.
  • Professional Certification Prep
    • This module closes the specialization by helping learners consolidate what they have learned and test readiness with mock exams. It gives learners a final chance to identify gaps, review priorities, and prepare for the LFCS exam experience.
