via CourseHorse

Overview

Get to know Idaho and Western Canada in all their natural glory, from hybrid and international grapes, to dry and dessert wines, find out what make these regions unique in North America.

If it were an American state, British Columbia would be our fifth largest producer of wine, just behind Oregon. It’s growing regions range from the verdant Vancouver Island to the gorgeous, lake-strung Okanagan Valley. It offers convincing wines from international varieties, such as Cabernet Franc and Gewurtztraminer, but also delightful wines from little-known hybrid grapes.

Learn all about BC—and Idaho which has a surprising number of wineries. Coverage will include climates, soils, unique geographical features and details on every GI. And we’ll taste 6-8 wines related to the curriculum.
