This course is the first part of a five-course Spanish Beginner sequence.
Teaching Method:
Native-fluency instructors promote active use of Spanish in the classroom through Spanish-language activities, games, songs, visual elements, and manipulatives. Instructors integrate various audio and visual elements that are complementary and interconnected, allowing the same vocabulary and grammar concepts to be practiced and reinforced in multiple ways. This approach creates variety, encourages participation, and helps maintain student engagement throughout the course.
Course Overview:
This course is ideal for students ages 5 to 8 with little to no prior language experience. Students will begin learning basic vocabulary and simple sentences to express personal information, describe where they live, and identify people they know. Students will develop the ability to understand familiar words and basic phrases about themselves, their family, and their immediate concrete surroundings when others speak slowly and clearly.
Next Level: Spanish Beginner 2
